The new TV offering now being shown on the AMC channel is really an old idea
from the 20th century, 2nd millennia brought back to life for the 21st
century, 3rd millennia.
Imagine the 1954 novel I am Legend by Richard Matherson crossed with the
1969 novel The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton and you have the plot
outline for TV series The Walking Dead.
You can forget the comic book series The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman,
Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, which was paying homage to all those Zombie
slasher flicks of yesteryear.
All of which were inspired by both I am Legend (3 movies and counting) and
The Andromeda Strain (2 movies and counting) and not forgetting the original
novels that were made into movies.

So what? Maybe I'm missing something, not having read either I Am Legend or
The Andromeda Strain, but I don't see how being *like* something else makes
something intristicly bad. There are really only so many plots and themes
to go around, so overlap is unavoidable. If it wasn't for the fact you put
"cancel it now" in the subject line, I wouldn't even have realized it was a
complaint. Are you saying its unoriginal, or that I Am Legend and The
Andromeda Strain suck? Do you think you could write a better zombie show?
I don't get it.

Personally, the only zombie videos I'm interested in watching are the
funny ones, like "Zombieland". Watching a "serious" one is like watching
someone else play a shoot-em-up video game.
